This year's Summit is intended for people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) who are 18 years of age or older. The focus for this year is as follows: Micro Enterprise and the role of the Trust; Supported Decision-Making Agreements, (regarding agreement development); Friendship and Dating- Healthy Relationships; Able Act and the Transition Plan; DD Shared Vision; and Budget Authority, as well as other important subject matters. We encourage individuals from all regions of Alaska to join the Summit and learn better skills for self-advocacy.
For qualified attendees who live outside of the Anchorage area please contact Ric Nelson for funding for airfare, per-diem and hotel accommodations. Qualifications for attendees are those who experience I/DD who are at least 18 years or older.
All attendees who are participating in the Summit are expected to be present during the main conference hours of:
Friday, September 27 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM.
Saturday, September 28 from 9:00AM until 6:30PM
Sunday, September 29 from 9:00AM to 2:00PM
There is a Complimentary, no-fee optional dinner social event provided for attendees and their DSP's from 5:00PM to 6:30PM on Saturday September 28th in the hotel. This is an opportunity for attendees to meet each other, make connections and form relationships to network together after the summit ends.
